With swimsuit season right around the corner, many people are starting to feel a bit anxious about their figures. 1. Exercise Buddy
There’s nothing like having an exercise partner to make you feel more motivated. Whether it’s a friend, family member, or co-worker, it’s always easier to stick to something when someone else is counting on you. You and your buddy can draw on one another’s determination, help discourage each other from making bad choices, and even serve as a sympathetic ear when the going gets tough.
2. Update Your Wardrobe
Most people wait until they’ve lost weight to update their wardrobe, but it may be more beneficial if you do it now. Go ahead and buy that new swimsuit you’ve been eyeing. It serves as a tangible goal that can help you build up the motivation to work harder.
3. Write Out Your Goals
One of the most important aspects of getting motivated is to have a clear understanding of your goals. Do you want to lose ten pounds in the next four weeks? Write that down. Is your ultimate aim to fit into a certain dress size by the time you go on vacation? You can include that, too. Having a detailed idea of what you want to achieve will help you understand what you need to do to get there. It’s not that the equipment is better or that you’re in a more focused environment, although these things can help. Studies have shown that exercising in the presence of other people ignites an unconscious competitiveness in us that makes us want to out-perform them. Naturally, this leads to more dedicated and rigorous fitness habits.
