First Impressions

Does the search for the perfect MLBB (my lips but better) lipstick ever end? I’m pretty sure it does not, which leads us into testing the brand new Nars and Steven Klein lipstick collab, Besame Mucho.

Besame Mucho is described as a gleaming “deep rose beige” but I would say it leans heavily towards beige with barely a trace of rose. On my skin tone Besame Mucho is more of a neutral brown with a tiny hint of pink. Brown isn’t really my scene and for nearly $30 I was hoping for the perfect rosy beigey pink. This technically was an MLBB but in a “My Lips But Browner” sort of way. Le sigh.

The formula is smooth and glossy with the perfect amount of gleam. It offers beautiful shine without getting into sticky lip gloss territory; no need to fear stray hairs and random debris getting stuck to your lips (remember MAC Lipglass? Ew).

Wear time is about average and nothing to brag about. Again, for the luxury price tag I would hope and expect an impressive wear time, not something that wears off after a few cups of coffee.

This collab left too much to be desired and is a rare Nars miss for me (see what we’re obsessed with here and here). It’s ok Nars, we’ll always have Laguna.

What We Love

  • Smooth, buttery texture
  • Doesn't dry out lips
  • Chic packaging
  • Delivers the perfect amount of shine

Not So Much

  • Not long wearing
  • Color is a bit misleading
  • So pricey

A chicly packaged buttery soft nude lipstick. The formula feels great but the too brown color falls flat for me personally.
