Niagara Falls from All Angles

The Flight of a Lifetime - Niagara Helicopters

The Niagara Helicopters’ 12-minute aerial tour starts with the Sir Adam Beck Generating plant and the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture and follows the Niagara River, over the churning whirlpool at the Whirlpool Rapids and the Rainbow Bridge. The lush beauty of Queen Victoria Park stretches below as the helicopter passes by the American Falls and the Skylon Tower and then follows the curve of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls allowing passengers to witness rainbows projecting from every direction.

Whirlpool Aero Car

In operation since 1916, the Whirlpool Aero Car travels between two different points of the Canadian shore of the Niagara River over the spectacular whirlpool rapids. Suspended from six sturdy cables, the antique cable car safely carries 35 standing passengers 3,600 feet roundtrip over the stunning but turbulent water below. The tour offers a unique view of the natural phenomenon, which formed at the end of the rapids where the Great Gorge turns abruptly counterclockwise, and the Niagara River escapes through the narrowest channel in the gorge.

Journey Behind the Falls

Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens

Located on the scenic Niagara Parkway and the Great Gorge, Niagara Parks’ Botanical Gardens is just a 10-minute drive north of the Niagara Falls.

Established in 1936, the Botanical Gardens offer 99 acres of beautifully maintained grounds. Walk along the meandering paths and discover perennials, rhododendrons, azaleas, a formal parterre garden, shade, herb and vegetable plantings, as well the world-famous rose garden featuring over 2,400 roses.

This beautiful garden setting is also home to the Butterfly Conservatory and serves as the unique outdoor classroom for students attending the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture.

Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory

A magical attraction, the Butterfly Conservatory features over 2,000 of these colorful, tropical, winged insects floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. Wander through the rainforest setting, past a reflective pond and shimmering waterfall and the Emergence window, where butterflies leave their pupae and prepare to take their first flight.
