Terranea Resort – Lavishly Picturesque

Perched on the bluffs in Los Angeles overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Terranea is a stunning destination on the stately Palos Verdes Peninsula. Originally the site of Marineland dating back to the 50s, Terranea makes good use of the sprawling and completely revamped 102-acre oceanfront property. Now celebrating its five-year anniversary, Terranea Resort offers a variety of guestrooms and suites, including spacious casitas and villas, each exuding a warm and luxurious feel with comfortable furnishings and private balconies that overlook elegant gardens and breathtaking ocean vistas. For relaxing wellness retreats, the resort also offers The Bungalows at Terranea. Located adjacent to the spa, 20 two-bedroom bungalows are each equipped with spa and fitness-themed amenities.

Across the way, the esteemed Spa at Terranea is a 50,000 square foot oasis designed to lavishly pamper both resort guests and daytime visitors alike. The amenities include steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and cold plunges, as well as 25 treatment rooms such as the Ocean, Earth and Fire suites – each offering unique ritual treatments for singles or couples.

Farm Fresh Cuisine

Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra, who was born and raised in the French side of the Basque Country, oversees the daily supervision of the resort’s entire food and beverage operations including eight dining venues, in-room dining department, and banquets division. He calls his style of cooking “farm-to-Terranea”, which to him translates to sourcing fresh ingredients grown or raised as locally as possible. Located less than a mile from the restaurant, the chef’s garden offers fresh herbs, fruit, vegetables, and even honey to complement his many delicious gourmet offerings at Terranea.
