First Impressions

I’ve been really into lip color lately…. like OBSESSED!! I’m so excited to have crossed paths with Emani’s Hydrating Lip Color. Doesn’t the name sound so fancy? Which makes it even more appealing to try? I thought so too! This product is also cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and PETA certified, so you can feel secure about what you are putting over those luscious lips of yours.

This Hydrating Lip Color is enriched with natural oils and vitamins such as Jojoba oil and Vitamin E. I love that this product makes your lips feel hydrated and conditioned the whole time you’re wearing it. There is no need to put on lip balm before your lip color application. This dual purpose lip color is what I need in my life!

My favorite shade out of the three shades that I reviewed is 350 Ava. It is a beautiful coral peachy-ish shade that went on smoothly and effortlessly. I’m a matte fan, and find that sometimes with matte lipsticks they can be very overdrying and crack. But, with Emani’s Hydrating Lip Color in 350 Ava I felt like I got the matte look and color I like with the hydration, and it didn’t look to glossy, shiny or dry. It was perfect! I’m also happy to report that there is NO fragrance or unpleasant taste.  This lipstick is purely natural. If you don’t know what I mean by fragrance and taste, just compare it to a drugstore brand for yourself.

Now, the downside to all this is the packaging! I guess we can’t have our cake and eat it too on this one guys. I found the packaging to be very weak. When I first did my application, the lipstick was not very secure and moved around which made a bit of a mess on the edges of the lipstick applicator. But that was the only downfall for me.
