First Impressions

If eating fruits is good for you, then rubbing them all over your lips has to be too, right? In the case of the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze, the answer is yes.

Anytime a product claims to be natural, the first thing I do is check the ingredients. And folks, this product does indeed deserve its pure name. It is jam-packed with good-for-your-lip stuff, like avocado butter, coco butter, shea butter, and rosehip oil- all organic, and just to name a few. This is super important when you’re using a product on your mouth, so you know you aren’t ingesting a host of chemicals throughout the day.

Upon first glance: The packaging is silver and sleek. It’s longer and more thin than a normal lipstick tube, making it perfect for fitting in even a small wristlet.

Upon first swipe: This product goes on like a dream- just as smooth and hydrating as you imagined when you read the ingredients I listed. But this also meant I had to be careful to make sure I stayed within the lines, if you know what I mean. It was so slippery that it was quick to bleed, and because of the darker shade I was using, it was noticeable.

As expected, it has a slight fruity scent, and its shiny finish and fruity pigment truly make your lips look like the ripest, juiciest piece of fruit. Its staying power was average. Nothing to dock points over, but also nothing notable.

The con: The shade I used was Cabernet, which would make you think wine stained lips, right? Wrong. It turned out to be more of a bright red, and even pulled a big of orange on me. Not that it looked bad, but you definitely would be disappointed if you were expecting the advertised color. And don’t even look at the shade circle on their site- it’s nothing like that.

Would I purchase again? The price tag seems a little steep, but with the cleanliness of the line, and the intense hydration I’m always looking for in a lip product, the answer is yes. However, I’d stick with a more everyday shade.
