Flavored Ice Cubes for Summer

Nothing screams summer like a tall, cool glass of [fill in the blank]. Whether for you that’s water, iced tea, lemonade, etc., it can be easy to get bored drinking the same thing everyday, which is why it can’t hurt to always have some fancy, custom-made flavored ice cubes in the freezer, waiting to save the day.

We must superficially admit, we don’t just like these ice cubes for their yummy taste - they’re also visually pleasing. Seriously, look how precious they are! They’re a crowd pleaser at BBQs.

The best/easiest part? You can make any flavor combo you like, in any ratios that you desire.

The ones we tried were mint, lemon + mint, and pomegranate + mint, but you can use any type of herbs, edible flowers, juices, or fruit, and toss them in anything from tap water, sparkling water, lemonade, iced tea, mojitos…the list goes on.

To make these, we used square, silicone ice cube trays like these, fresh mint from a garden, lemon juice, and pomegranate juice. We experimented with different combos and ratios, and enjoyed them all. You really can’t mess this up!

So go clip some herbs from the garden, grab some fruits from the fridge, and let the great H2O experiment begin.

Tip: If you want your ice cubes to come out clear, boil your water first.
