The Zumba fitness program was originally created by a Colombian dancer and choreographer, Alberto “Beto” Perez during one of his classes during the 90’s. And now, Zumba is enjoyed by different people of all ages all over the world. It has become one of the most popular workout choices of many people because of its fun and exciting approach on weight loss. The fitness program includes many dance moves such as salsa, meringue, reggaeton, flamenco, chachacha, samba, tango, cumbia, hip hop, bhangra, soca and even belly dancing.

A typical Zumba class is about an hour long and these classes are taught by certified instructors from an organization named Zumba Academy. The good thing about Zumba is that it is categorized into 8 levels which cater to a specific age group. For the oldies but goodies, there is the Zumba Gold class which is especially designed for them. It has basically the same music as with the other classes but it involves less intense moves. If you are a beginner, then you can also join the Zumba Gold class while you are still in the process of polishing your dance moves. Kids can also take part in a Zumbatomic class where the routines are designed for kids under the age of 12. For those who want to work out on their core, then the Zumba Toning class will certainly do the trick. This type of Zumba class involves the use of toning sticks and the routines are designed to target the arms, abs and thighs which are considered as the challenging areas of the body.

So, if you want more spice in your daily workout routine then try Zumba and dance your way to a fitter and healthier you.
