Lightly fried chicken legs mixed in bread crumbs and a light marinade with simple dipping sauce is just what your family had in mind! Add some celery, carrots or homemade potato skins and you have got a quick dinner that your roommate, little one or husband will love!
Chicken legs, small – 5
Salt – ¼ tsp
Paprika – ½ tsp
Dry bread crumbs – ½ cup
Oil – 1 cup (for shallow frying)
For the marinade
Oil – 2 tbsp
Crushed garlic – 2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Cinnamon powder – 1 tsp
Cumin seeds, powdered – 1 tsp
Coriander seeds, powdered – 2 tsp
Salt – 1 ½ tsp
Take a wide bowl and make a marinade of the given ingredients. Prick the chicken legs all over with a fork and dip in the marinade (you need to prick so that the marinade is well absorbed). Refrigerate for 4 hours.
Remove from the refrigerator after 4 hours. In a bowl, beat the egg and add salt and paprika. Dip each chicken leg in this egg mix and roll out on dry bread crumbs and set aside.
Meanwhile, take a frying pan and heat the oil. Once the oil is hot, keeping the heat at a medium, shallow fry the chicken legs till golden brown. Drain out the excess oil with kitchen towels. Serve with tomato sauce as a yummy starter.
