It’s been so long since the original announcement that you probably already forgot: way back in October 2014, Topshop announced an athleisure line to be crafted in partnership with Beyoncé. Yes, you read that right. And now they finally announced a launch date: March 2016.
Beyoncé’s line will be an independent brand, dubbed Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd., sold at Topshop stores and topshop.com.
“This not a collaboration,” Topshop Chairman Philip Green said when the partnership was first announced. “This is about building a brand and building a business: a separate, proper business, with separate overheads and a separate office.”
WWD reports that it will include about 125 pieces comprising athletic streetwear-inspired clothing, shoes, and accessories. And Green confirms that Beyoncé has already shot the campaign for the line. We’ll keep our eyes peeled and let you know as soon as the first look arrives!
