The Banyan Courtyard of the Moana Surfrider Resort invites guests to relax under the shade of the hotel’s historic banyan tree. When planted in 1904 by Jared Smith, Director of the Department of Agriculture Experiment Station, the Indian banyan tree was nearly seven feet tall and about seven years old. It now stands 75 feet high and spans 150 feet across the picturesque courtyard. At night, guests can enjoy entertainment in the courtyard including live performances, hula dancers and an elevating atmosphere.
