We present to you another device that looks like it was used for medieval torture (in addition to this one), but could actually change your life: the tongue scraper.
The Ayurvedic practice of tongue scraping is pretty self-explanatory - it’s an oral hygiene practice of scraping the surface of the tongue to remove to remove toxins, bacteria, food debris, fungi, and dead cells.
It’s especially important to do each morning, because although we’re sleeping, our digestive system is still working away, removing toxins and depositing them on our tongues- yuck. If you don’t scrape these nasties away, they can be reabsorbed into the body.
More effective than using a toothbrush alone, the original tongue scraper is a flat piece of metal curved into a U-shape.
To use, you hold onto each end, place the scraper at the back of the tongue, pull it all the way to the front dragging across the surface of the tongue, then try not to get grossed out when you see what it brings with it. (Yup, this is one of those devices you can actually see working, and will never want to be without again. If you don’t believe us, do a google search, but don’t say we didn’t warn you.) Rinse the scraper, then repeat 5-10 times.
Here are some of its benefits:
Fights Halitosis (Bad Breath)…maximize the power of brushing and flossing by getting every last drop of yuck off of your tongue.
Boosts Your Immunity…by removing the toxins before being reabsorbed into your body.
Promotes Dental Health…by removing the gunk that contributes to periodontal problems, tooth loss and decay, plaque build-up, gum infections and recession, etc.
Boost Digestive Health…if you didn’t know it, digestive health starts in the mouth. Removing the toxins helps promotes optimal functioning and actives saliva production.
Makes Your Food Taste Better…by unblocking those taste buds, you can taste the full rainbow of goodness!
